Years ago when we moved here I planted some pine trees to separate our yard from the neighbor’s yard. It was not to keep anyone out, but because we both liked tall pines. Well, the health of those trees has suffered over the years due to some kind of blight that is affecting pine trees. They are so tall that we were worried the internal structure of their trunks was compromised, so we called a tree service in Long Island NY to take them down.
When you have trees taken down, there is an initial mess. However, if you hire the right tree removal service company, they cleanup the area really nice. The area where our trees was at had a large oval spot that was mostly bare ground and pine needles. The grass would not grow there. We called it our mini pine forest. I remember the kids playing under those trees when they were little. They would imagine themselves being in a huge forest of pines. They would rake away pine needles to build their protected forts of scrap wood and boxes.
It was a little sad to see the trees come down. We would have kept them if it were not for whatever that blight was that was making their branches go bare of needles. Oh, and I can’t tell you how many pine cones we have collected over the years. We have many crafts made of those pine cones. I was sad to look out and see that bald spot on the ground where the pine trees once stood. However, now it has been replanted with a flower bed and grass. The grass has taken strong root and there is no trace the trees used to be there. We only have our memories of them and some pictures of the kids playing under them.
