I went to my wife’s Christmas banquet and was bored silly. I knew very few people there, and she was busy handling different things as well as people. I kept myself entertained as best as could be, but it felt like one of the longest nights of my life. I am on the executive team at my work, so I approached the owner about our own upcoming Christmas party. I asked if I could be in charge of corporate entertainment because I did not want others to feel bored at our festivities like I was bored at my wife’s company’s party.
He gladly handed it over to me, telling me that he had just been to an equally boring get together with several hundred others not that long ago. As soon as he gave me the go ahead, I got right to work on it. I knew that I was going to hire a professional company because there was no way we could make it fun on our own. If it was for a smaller crowd that we knew intimately, then it would be easy to entertain on our own. However, having hundreds of people together meant bringing in the professionals to keep everything fun and festive.
I was able to find a company that provides this type of service, and it was interesting to see the different things they offer. Though I would never hire them for the group we have, I was really impressed with the acrobatic options. They even have entertainers who hang upside down from the ceiling to serve drinks! I may end up getting them in the future for a more intimate event, but I chose carolers, musicians, magicians, and street artists for this one. It ended up being the right mix because everyone had such an amazing time, and people are still talking about it months later!
